Cossa Polimeri invests in innovation by developing advanced and sustainable compounds. One example is a project carried out in partnership with Fi-Plast, Fratelli Cane, and La Sapienza University of Rome, approved by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), which enabled the installation of semi-industrial machinery for prototyping innovative and sustainable materials. Our research areas cover food, hygiene, and automotive sectors, addressing the growing demand for sustainability and performance.

SAFE Project – Development of innovative solutions for sustainability and security

With the concession decree no. 2003 of 06/27/2023, the partnership composed of Cossa Polimeri Srl, Fiplast Srl, Fratelli Cane Srl and Sapienza University of Rome received atotal grant of 3,599,126.25 euros, against an admitted investment of 6,136,948.75 euros.
The grant, awarded under the ministerial decree of Dec. 31, 2021, supports the implementation of the research and development project “SAFE – Development of semi-finished and finished products for environmental protection and human safety.” The project, identified as F/310082/01-04/X56, focuses on innovative solutions for food packaging, sanitation, and applications with flame and electrical resistance.

Project duration: 36 months
Goal: To develop semi-finished products made of plastic materials with a low environmental footprint, intended forfood packaging, food transportation, and components for electrical and electronic applications.
